Even though we missed school on Fat Tuesday, the fifth graders had fun celebrating Fat Tuesday with a King cake when they returned to the classroom on Friday. Mrs. Martin was crazier then usual and had Mardi Gras themed attire on this morning to get everyone excited about Lent
Tomorrow, on Wednesday, February 18th, we will have our Ash Wednesday Mass at 8am. There will also be a Rice Bowl Blessing in the FLC at 2:30pm. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Season of Lent. It is a season of penance, reflection, and fasting which prepares us for Christ's Resurrection on Easter Sunday. Our foreheads are marked with ashes to humble our hearts and to remind us that life passes away on Earth. Ashes are a symbol of penance made by blessed palms used on Palm Sunday. We hope to see lots of faces at church on Ash Wednesday!
The Knights of St. John in Haubstadt will be having a chicken dinner on February 15th starting at 10:30 until ? The menu includes fried chicken, dressing, dumplings, green beans, corn, mash potatoes, cole slaw, and desserts. You can dine in at the Knights Hall or carry out this wonderful meal . Adults are $9.50 and children (10 and under) are $5.00. The St. Bernadette Auxiliary will also be selling kuchens.
